Game of life = dodgeball + capture the flag

I was driving today when it struck me that life is like playing dodgeball and capture the flag.

Life isn’t smooth sailing. It isn’t meant to be. If it were, would we appreciate  the good things?

Life throws some wicked curveballs from every angle, it is our choice to be proactive and move- do something about it. And if we do get knocked down, it is still our choice to stand up. Is it easy? No, but it will be worth it.

I thought about goals, success and failure like capture the flag. It just sounds more exciting. I’m sure most of you have played capture the flag, you may call it something different. It’s still the same game,  you have to strategize, look at it from different angles, it’ll most likely involve some sort of investment or sacrifice before you go for it.

Should the attempt fail, the flag is still there, the goal is still there all you got to do is try again. Choice is still yours.

I don’t mean to trivialize life, but I am attempting to see setbacks positively and respond to them more productively and  effectively.

Also, both these games involve a team, working together and cohesively. It’s important to surround yourself with people who believe in you, both overtly and covertly.  Keeping positive company can come in handy especially when you need that little pick one and that one person knows exactly what to say without you saying a thing.

I would love if life was literally more like dodgeball and capture the flag, pelting someone with a large ball when they annoyed you just seems so much more fun than being a grown up!
